I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels and one of my all-time most loved characters is his Ankh-Morpock tyrant - Lord Vetinari.
Character appeared in 2 film adaptations and was played by Jeremy Irons and Charles Dance - the latter beeing my favourite. So... when Xensation decided to make Tywin Lannister (also played by Charles Dance), I without hesitation preordered two.
As headsculpt is mostly perfect (one might wish for more ginger hair) and I was able to use Tywin's trousers and boots, all I needed to do was to sew a new shirt and coat.
I used Tywin's clothes as a reference for my patterns:
- shirt pattern required almost no changes
- Vetinari's coat pattern was altered by me to include more tucks on the back and I've added several wedges to make coat flare below waist.
The result is not a perfect recreation of Vetinari look from Going Postal, which has 3 rows of buttons and a quite different collar, but that was never my goal anyway.
All work was done in 3 days - just in time for May 25th (Glorious Revolution) celebration.
